The moment we watched Apothecary Diaries, we just knew we had to make them. I've always loved hanfu aesthetics and I love cutesy romance, also I enjoy making cosplays that are heavily fabric tbh and if I could wear hanfu everyday I totally would. And now I also have my own Maomao to tease.❤️

The hanfu patterns are something we drafted a while back, we've made a few hanfu cosplays in the past that we patterned with xianxia influences and we used the same pattern we made with minor modifications.

Maomao (Garden Party)
We designed floral motifs to machine embroider on her inner layer, outer layer sleeves, belt sash, ribbon, and hanfu skirt. We also added laces, ruffles, and an additional sheer layer as our own design choice. We modeled her necklace on Blender and printed on PLA, and we added a floral piece on her belt sash that matches her necklace.

Jinshi
While he has a different outfit that he wore during the garden party scene, we liked his default look better for us to incorporate our own original designs. We changed the patterning on his outer robe sleeves and constructed them with extra layers as inspired by xianxia aesthetics. We added a panel with our original dragon embroidery design. We also designed a belt brooch for him that is part-moon and part-floral, the moon as an ode to his nickname as the moon prince, and the floral part to match Maomao's necklace and brooch.
