We got a few suggestions to do this pair a while back. We've always loved Liyue's lore long before Guizhong had an official design and then seeing that Zhongli also got an alternate outfit design was super exciting, though as always we modified and added our own original designs into our construction to personalize them into our style.

We patterned both outfits on paper and modified further using mock fabric. We modeled all accessories and both props (Vortex Vanquisher and Cleansing Bell) on Blender and printed with PLA.

Zhongli (Lantern Rite cutscene version)
We patterned his shoulder armors on paper to make up roughly 10ish pieces per shoulder and cut them out of EVA foam. We added our own design on his chest and designed original embroideries on his robe and capelet inspired by his geometric motifs. Initially we weren't planning on making a prop for him, but the first time we made Zhongli's default outfit a couple years ago we decided last minute to also make a Vortex Vanquisher that we super rushed in only 3 days. It was rough so we thought this would be a good chance to take our time and remake it.

Guizhong
We were so invested in her lore back when we started playing Genshin so as our personalization, we designed and added our original glaze lily embroideries all over her dress. We patterned the top separately from the skirt, did multiple pieces for each and stitched them together into one full dress piece. We changed her sleeve structure to make it more hanfu-like (because we love hanfus) and we also changed the back design and added a sash thing inspired by the flowy elegant silhouettes we often see in xianxia/wuxia films.

Overall this was actually a really pleasant project, it was not super stressful to make. So happy they're done!!
