Seth Lowell & Jane Doe
Zenless Zone Zero

What we were most excited about for this project is when we realized this is our first time ever making techwear style cosplays! We had such a different experience crafting them and had so much fun thinking about how to infuse our original redesigns with ZZZ vibe.

Seth Lowell
He is incredibly difficult to put on a dress form, he got way too many random floating pieces! We manually drafted the patterns for his top, pants, and sleeves. His fabrics are polyester mix but what's really fun is that we actually used curtain fabric for part of his pants which is from old curtains we stashed away a long time ago. We love upcycling materials when we can! For his chest piece, we added thin batting sandwiched in between the fabric. Most of his accents are from stretch shiny fabric, pleather, and heat transfer vinyl.

We made his ears out of wire, EVA foam, and covered them with fur which we trimmed. The pink part was white fur dyed with watered down paint, using the same leftover paint mix we kept from when we made Jiaoqiu's ears and tails (we also love using up old materials that we already have). We made his tail from wire and batting, and sewed together the white and dark fur pieces.

His prop is EVA foam with a PVC reinforcement, we made our own pattern for the prop and we modeled/printed a few of the smaller trinkets, and hand painted most of it with acrylic. His second smaller prop was made of PVC with small PLA pieces and can be inserted into and detached from the shield. We did not make the plastic handcuffs or walkie talkie toys.

He got pockets and pouches! Lots of storage. ✌️

Jane Doe
We manually drafted the patterns for Jane's jacket, shirt, shorts, and boot covers. We used dupioni fabric from Silk Baron for her main jacket fabric, we like how it’s light with a nice subtle sheen to it. We used the same fabric for her boot covers to match. We wanted the underside of her sleeves to be a shade or two darker than our main dupioni to give it some dimension so we designed and custom printed the fabric from Spoonflower and decorated with red accents. Her shorts and top are made from a 4-way stretch fabric. The inner shirt top has a sheer black layer sitting underneath her tie. Most of her accents are from stretch shiny fabric, pleather, and heat transfer vinyl.

Her ears are made of wire, EVA foam, and covered with fur which we trimmed. The pink part of the fur is white fur dyed with diluted paint (we used the same paint mix we kept from when we made Jiaoqiu's ears and tail).

For her boot covers, we used the cling wrap and duct-tape method: we covered the boots in cling wrap, put duct-tape all around, drew the patterns and cut them out. Then we traced them onto tracing paper, cut the fabric, then sewed the pieces together. Her tail is made of wire, batting, and we created a fabric case for it with the same jacket fabric. We modeled the end of her tail to print in PLA in two pieces and can be snapped in together.

We made her pouch with EVA foam base and covered it with the same red accent fabric we put on her coat. We modeled her trinkets, accessories and props on Blender and printed them with PLA.
